Associate Incident Response Consultant

Blackthorn Trace have partnered with a global cyber security consultancy to recruit a new Associate Incident Response Consultant. The ideal candidate will come from a Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking or related degree, or have similar experience in an operational environment.

You will have a keen interest in the field and this will be demonstrable through self study, home labs and security research conducted outside of University/work. You will be apart of pulling apart real world cyber attacks with lots of opportunity to learn and develop.

The primary responsibility for the new Associate Incident Response Consultant is to deliver incident response and investigations to a wide client base with a focus on APTs including forensic investigations, proactive compromise assessments and implementation of response procedures.

The successful consultant should have good knowledge on enterprise IT platforms and information security.

We are looking for:

  • Excellent understanding of security architectures, server infrastructure, logging and alerting.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and the ability to perform deep-dive network forensics.
  • Experience or an understanding of file system analysis.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows and/or OS X internals.
  • Malware analysis knowledge or experience.
  • Memory analysts knowledge or experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience with languages such as Ruby, Python, Powershell or Bash.
  • Certifications in Incident Response such as GIAC, CREST, EC-Council or similar.
  • Certifications such as AccessData Certified Examiner, Encase Certified Examiner, X-Ways Professional in Evidence Recovery Techniques.
