Blackthorn Trace are working with a leading organisation within the UK's music industry, supporting them building an Intelligence function.

Working alongside other content protection specialists you will help to devise and deliver technical and practical strategies to protect digital and physical music content: including bringing precedent setting legal cases; delivering a world leading website blocking programme; removing infringing content from the internet; and disrupting illegal websites & traders.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage compliance
  • Intelligence gathering & online investigation within music anti-piracy field
  • Supporting physical piracy investigators
  • Work alongside the City of London Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU)
  • Intelligence report writing
  • Management of covert accounts


  • Analytical mind-set
  • Experience in online investigations
  • Strong presentational skills
  • Understanding of Open Source collection techniques
  • Knowledge of IBM i2 & SQL databases
  • Good understanding of web-hosting
  • Knowledge of digital piracy eco-systems
