Blackthorn Trace are looking for an Enterprise Software Architect to help design and integrate an application to the highest standards of resilience, stability and security, for a global bank.£This includes detailed software architecture design, operationalization and enterprise architecture integration.£Candidates will be responsible for the analysis of business, regulatory and engineering problems, the implementation of appropriate solutions and the documentation of well-defined methods, procedures, and programs in the delivery of these solutions.


Candidates should have strong experience with the following knowledge, skills and attributes to be successful:

  • End-to-end software development lifecycle as it applies to a highly regulated (e.g. financial services) environment
  • Automating software provisioning, deployment and maintenance using appropriate tooling including Ansible
  • Usage of the Mulesoft AnyPoint platform to register and control APIs
  • Advanced, modern Agile software development methodologies
  • Enterprise integration experience utilizing microservices/SOA
  • Experience working with MySQL databases
  • Using continuous integration tools and automated testing, CI/CD pipeline
  • Design and architecture of large-scale applications
  • Using Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Knowledge of all elements of a full technology stack
  • Availability to work locally at customer site in St. Paul's and/or our offices in Canary Wharf
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and fluency in English (both verbal and written)

Desirable knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Developing server-side solutions in Go
  • Developing server-side technologies in C#, Python and/or Java
  • Static code analysis to identify stability and security risks
  • Building web app front ends in React
  • Development/Integration experience with the MattermostChat Platform
  • Confidence and ability to determine requirements and lead development to completion
  • Building training and certification programmes in conjunction with a technical author
