Cloud Quality Assurance Engineer

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for technology, be open minded and have good technical skills to help solve and troubleshoot large scale Cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively develop test automation scripts at different test levels
    • Assist in designing and creation of test harnesses
    • Reproducing defects and help the team investigate escalated issues
    • Assist development of bug fixes, bug isolation, and resolution
    • Writing test cases; automating test cases within existing framework
    • Create test plans based on requirements and effectively estimate tasks/projects
  • Develop and execute test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) for assigned features
  • Log test results, write bug reports and maintain schedules for assigned features and functionality

Required Skills

  • Self-motivated and flexible to changing tasks that may require learning new skills
  • Experience with a high level programming language (preferably Python)
  • Able to work well as part of a team or independently as needed
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated with strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience in formal software testing methodologies, including software development cycles, testing processes and standards

Desired Skills

  • Use of Linux with some system administration experience
  • Knowledge and use of Public Cloud technologies (AWS)
  • Experience and understandingofCICD process and tools (preferably to Jenkins)
    • Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6)

Education & Experience

  • Degree educated and/or equivalent test qualifications, eg. ISEB - ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level

  • Database knowledge and experience: e.g. MySQL
  • Data storage and retrieval strategies including BigData project solutions
  • Understanding of security concepts: encryption, secure application development, defensive programming, software vulnerabilities and exploits, general issues in web security
  • Demonstrate experience developing and using RESTful API interfaces
  • Public Cloud development and technology solution integration (AWS)
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies and networking concepts (HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP)
  • Experience of operational monitoring tools: e.g. Datadog, Prometheus
  • Development experience on a Linux/Unix platform

Our Reading based client, a company with 26 years worth of experience within their respective industry is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to deliver technical solutions and support to their clients allowing them to utilise their Cloud technology.

This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your experience with implementing Cloud-based solutions, migrating workloads to the cloud and your ability to connect and manage hybrid Cloud environments. Your knowledge of Microsoft's solutions, technologies and products will be utilised when working in diverse client environments.

Technical Requirements

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
  • Deep technical experience in infrastructure design including private and public cloud, networking, virtualization, identity, security and storage.
  • Understanding of how to build resilient multi-site architectures.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and OSS technologies.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as PowerShell DSC, Chef, ARM Templates, and Puppet.
  • Experience with deploying and managing the infrastructure for databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Maria, Cassandra
  • Working knowledge with AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with one or more of the following programming languages: PowerShell, Bash, .NET, C , Java, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails

Required Certifications

MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, MCSA Cloud Platform Solutions Associate, MCSA Linux on Azure Solutions Associate, AWS Certified Solution Architect.
