Blackthorn Trace have partnered with a global security consultancy specialising in Penetration Testing to recruit Security Consultant (Pen Testers) at Junior, Consultant, Senior and Principle levels to carry out security assessments and penetration tests up to targeted attack simulations.

You will have 25% of your working time to conduct your own security research in our clients highly recognised labs to ensure your skills remain relevant in this fast paced world of security.

The successful Security Consultant will have a passion for security and all things tech and not just treat it as a 'day job'. You will be self motivated and be aiming toward new research, security certifications or any other kind of professional development. You will have experience in one or more of the following, web app/mobile/infrastructure testing and will ideally hold the one or more of the following certifications to demonstrate your academic commitment:

  • OSCP/OSCE/OSWP
  • GPEN/GWAPT/GMOB/GXPN
  • CRT/CREST Certified Simulated Attack Specialist/Manager
  • Or similar to the above.

Intelligence Analyst (Content Protection)

We are working with a leading organisation within the UK's music industry, supporting them building an Intelligence function.

Working alongside other content protection specialists you will help to devise and deliver technical and practical strategies to protect digital and physical music content: including bringing precedent setting legal cases; delivering a world leading website blocking programme; removing infringing content from the internet; and disrupting illegal websites & traders. This role will have the view to eventually lead the team in the very near future.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review, update & manage compliance with procedures, laws & regulations governing evidence, intelligence & investigation techniques & practices within the music anti-piracy field;
  • Manage the Intelligence Management System, including providing support to physical piracy investigators.
  • Investigate online intellectual property infringement and enforce content removal across a variety of online platforms;
  • Work one day per week seconded at the City of London Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU);
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies & legal departments as required;
  • Prepare intelligence & evidence packages acceptable to law enforcement agencies for adoption & further investigation/prosecution, including submissions to PIPCU;
  • Manage test purchases as well as covert credit cards, covert drop addresses & covert social media accounts;
  • Support the organisations lobbying activities with ISPs & Digital Service Providers (DSPs).

Required:

  • Logical thinker & problem solver;
  • Meticulous in work output;
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team & efficiently alone - & ability to swap between the two seamlessly;
  • Previous experience in an online investigative capacity;
  • Strong analytical & presentational skills, including expert use of Excel & PowerPoint applications;
  • Strong knowledge of open source intelligence techniques;
  • Experience using a range of investigative case management & forensic tools;
  • Good working knowledge of IBM i2 & SQL databases;
  • Understanding of HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP;
  • Good understanding of web-hosting, internet registries, content delivery networks & advertising intermediaries;
  • Good understanding of digital piracy eco-systems and supporting technologies.

Desirable:

  • Law enforcement/Criminal law/cyber investigations background;
  • Experience in computer forensic and associated audit trail documentation;
  • Experience in writing witness statements;
  • Knowledge of copyright law.

You will ensure the integrity and smooth operation of the Security Team, whilst protecting the company from IOC's by managing the threat intelligence and vulnerability management systems. Alongside your passion for Security you will have an innovative approach to security and always look to improve the security posture.

The Role

  • Responsible for ensuring that clear strategies, processes, procedures and guidelines are in place for threat intelligence and vulnerability management, aligned to relevant security policies and standards
  • Produce and disseminate threat and vulnerability management Information, including preparation of reporting material for periodic security groups
  • Identify vulnerabilities using scanning tools, third party and security testing reports
  • Lead the investigation into vulnerabilities, advise on mitigation, root cause analysis and service improvements
  • Working with 3rd parties
  • Creation of Incident reports
  • Provide IT teams with vulnerability focused technical support, training and consultancy to ensure compliance with security polices, standards, compliance and regulation
  • Work with IT Change Management and third parties to ensure smooth running of vulnerability systems
  • Act as a trusted threat and vulnerability management specialist and become the 'Go To' person within IT
  • Introduce new controls through the process of continuous improvement

Requirements of the Role

  • Depth of experience in IT Technical Security , including time as a security senior practitioner
  • Experience of managing a managed security service provider
  • Experience of using threat intelligence systems and services
  • Demonstrable experience in the identification and implementation of information security technical controls to mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Masters in Information Security (MSc)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Vendor technology certifications specific to threat intelligence, vulnerability management, network security, host security and application security
  • SFIA. level 4
  • Level 4, Senior Practitioner

As a Digital Threat Researcher you must be able to speak, read and write fluently in your second language. You will have sound cultural understanding of the country of language you speak. You will identify trends that may pose a risk to brands and young people online through excellent research skills and a genuine passion for your cause.

Using your flair for language and bespoke technology, you will identify risk in user generated content. The role will require you to write up your findings in the form of reporting in order to make assessments on the level of risk these trends may pose to brands and consumers, so strong English language skills both written and verbal are essential.
