We are working with one of the fastest growing global leisure service businesses supporting a very important hire within their Digital team. Working in an established team, the Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the Azure based containerised Windows stack, streamlining deployment processes and ensuring best security practices.

The digital platform is going through a transformational and accelerated growth phase. Therefore our client is growing their DevOps team to allow them to provide continual enhancements to the development lifecycle and platform delivery.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and proven knowledge of the following:

  • Azure infrastructure as code (ideally using Terraform)
  • Azure SQL Database, App Services, Availability sets, Express Route, DNS, Load Balancing, AKS, Azure Container Service.
  • Experience managing Windows Server
  • Experience building Windows Core Containers
  • Docker/Docker-Compose
  • Configuration management experience (SCCM, Chef, Ansible, Puppet or other)
  • Powershell scripting and Desired State Configuration (DSC)
  • IIS
  • Octopus Deploy
  • Securing Windows environments. (CIS Benchmark)
  • Experience of highly available and fault tolerant systems
  • Hands on experience with GIT or another source control tool

Desirable

  • AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, Cloudfront, Cloudwatch, RDS, Route53, WAF)
  • Linux experience (Ubuntu)
  • PostgreSQL

We are working with an exciting international media organisation who develop and market leading online games.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, build and run systems, tools and micro-services supporting a range of applications.

You will setup a very modern 'infrastructure as code' and development environment utilising Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform with a strong CI focus. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your own career with a team scaling at a good pace.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience of AWS in a production system;
  • Exposure to Windows, Linux;
  • Experience across Continuous Integration, deployment pipelines, and automation tools (Jenkins);
  • Configuration Management tooling (Ansible/Puppet/Chef/Salt);
  • Good understanding of the Hashicorp Suite (Packer, Terraform, Vault, Vagrant, Consul);;
  • Containerisation - Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm;
  • Testing, setup and configuration of monitoring/alerting tooling (OpsView, Nagios, ELK, Graphite, Grafana, Zabbix, etc.);
  • Networking knowledge including switching, routing, VPN's, Load balancing (Software/hardware), CDN;
  • Security knowledge including Firewalls (Software/hardware), IPS/IDS, Antivirus, SIEM, IDaM, DDOS;
  • Experience working within an environment where operational support and monitoring of code & systems is part of the culture;
  • Ensuring the compliance of responsible gaming protocols;
  • Any other duties as requested by the company.

  • Proven experience of automating and deploying software to production;
