We are looking for someone with a can do attitude and willingness to get the project completed at all costs.

Required Skills

Immediate Requirements

  • Configure Azure components as per the digital HLSD.
  • Assist with the configuration of CI/CD pipelines within VSTS, this should include:
  • Advanced scripting using PowerShell DCS , ARM and JSON and management of CI/CD (Azure IaaS & PaaS)
  • Experience of Windows Server & Services support on Azure
  • Experience of .Net Framework
  • Experience SQL Server support
  • Experience of using VSTS
  • Experience of .Net Framework
  • Experience of Agile (Scrum & Kanban)
  • Experiences of technical team leadership
  • Assistance with Azure infrastructure including ARM templating.
  • Instrumentation of Azure monitoring using application insights.
  • Testing support i.e. incorporating test suites developed by the agency into the CI pipelines.

Blackthorn Trace have partnered with an Microsoft Gold Partner in search of an Azure DevOps Engineer to be based in Telford. The ideal candidate will have solid experienced in automated and orchestrating Azure workloads and deployments. Someone with strong Azure knowledge and be able to deploy, manage andmonitor Azure using Jenkins/Terraform and other tools.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Implementation of Azure solutions both on customer site and remotely.
  • Build and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources to support custom stacks primarily leveraging ARM & Terraform scripting for deployment automation.
  • Collaborate and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Design and operation of CI/CD automation pipelines using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
  • Automation and creation of CI/CD pipelines for Azure deployments.
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems.
  • Prioritise and deliver recommendations and improvements in response to infrastructure-based incidents.
  • Instruct on product architecture from a deployment perspective.

DevOps Engineer (Developer)

Blackthorn Trace is working with an independent energy regulator to find a DevOps Engineer to play a vital part in maintaining, running and supporting their Azure cloud based infrastructure. Their infrastructure is used for development and test operations in addition to developing and implementing a strategy to create an automated pipeline for the business critical schemes. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge in managing an IaaS/PaaS Azure platform and ways of automating deployments to platforms such as Powershell and the Azure APIs.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning of work within an agile development environment.
  • Design, build and maintain complex cloud based infrastructure and the relevant automated tooling.
  • Operational management and support of cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and infrastructural support for a range of legacy applications.
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems.
  • Work with developers to ensure services are appropriately configured for deployment, running and monitoring through an automated process.

  • Experience deploying Database changes
  • Understanding of scripting tools (i.e. Powershell) that can assist in automation of key infrastructure tasks.
  • Strong experience using the Azure DevOps/TeamCity/Jenkins/TFS build management and CI server.
  • Experience of using Git/bitbucket
  • Experience supporting and maintaining a complex, multi-server, microservice driven environment.
  • DevOps experience with Terraform and ARM Templates.
