Bi-lingual Digital Threat Researcher

Blackthorn Trace are working with a global Social Media consultancy that aim to protect young people and brands from harmful online content. Our client is looking for motivated, forward-thinking individuals, with a passion for social media and all that it encompasses. An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals with fluent second language skills, to help protect consumers and brands online.

As a Digital Threat Researcher you must be able to speak, read and write fluently in your second language. You will have sound cultural understanding of the country of language you speak. You will identify trends that may pose a risk to brands and young people online through excellent research skills and a genuine passion for your cause.

Using your flair for language and bespoke technology, you will identify risk in user generated content. The role will require you to write up your findings in the form of reporting in order to make assessments on the level of risk these trends may pose to brands and consumers, so strong English language skills both written and verbal are essential.

Perhaps you've seen this happen in real-time, and you are experienced in leading a team in maintaining brand reputation when a crisis does occur. The ideal candidate for the Digital Crisis Intelligence lead will have substantial experience working in a fast paced working environment, and leading a team in times of high pressure. You will utilise your skills for analysis in spotting trends online that could be potentially harmful to brand reputation, whilst leading and directing your team effectively.

Using bespoke technology you will be required to spot the potential crisis before it occurs; our client is looking for someone with an inquisitive mind-set, with a self starting attitude and a passion for protecting brands from brand crisis.

As a Digital Threat Analyst specialising in the Self-harm team you will ideally have previous professional experience of searching the Dark Web. You will be able to identify potential threats and trends within user generated content in an effort to protect young people from toxic and illegal content online. This kind of content can be harmful to consumers, particularly the vulnerable. It would be down to you to spot these threats on social media platforms before it gets into the hands of the consumer.

Due to the nature of this role, and the content that you will be exposed to the client offers full welfare support to all of their employees.

Our client is looking to grow their Digital Crisis Team and further protect their clients from crisis within the modern social age.

You will research and report on current social media trends, highlighting what is salient to proactively protect the brands you will work with. You will work in small teams becoming an SME in your area, and the go to person when a crisis occurs. Using bespoke technology you will proactively spot the potential for crisis, and report back with suggestions for next steps.

Security Consultant

  • Up to £35000 per annum car allowance, qual allowance, bonus

Penetration Tester team member - Involves on-site client visits and remote engagements providing structured programmes of security testing, consultancy and research combined with the delivery of informative reports detailing engagement activities and their results with articulation of risk and remediation priorities for clients. In addition to enacting these responsibilities my client will support you in your continued training and development goals on an individual basis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining proficiency in the use and application of security technologies
  • Delivering technical tasks on client engagements
  • Delivering high quality technical solutions to clients
  • Assist in the identification, resolution and documentation of security incidents.
  • Providing technical scoping advice
  • Developing self-skills on internal security projects
  • Conducting focused research when not engaged on client billable projects
  • Responsible for adhering to all internal policy and procedures in relation to security and quality best practice
  • Ability to travel to clients sites to perform security engagements of varying duration as required
